Stress: aches & pains

Postby trent on Sat Feb 19, 2005 12:57 am

My doctor thinks that all my aches and pains are stress related. Can stress really do that to your body? I do not feel like I am stressed, although I do deal with a boss that can be very demanding. :(

Thanks.

Hi Trent

Yes, stress can have many effects on the body from the beating heart to actually causing disease. Stress can also be responsible for headaches, shoulder aches, stomach upset and muscle aches and pains.

Many times because we get used to our daily routines we don't realize the demands that we are really under until the body begins to tell us, usually through the means described above.

Explore some techniques such as meditation, yoga, Pilates, scripture reading, listening to good music and/or breath work. You may also want to try a B-Complex supplement and Sam-E or Lithium Orotate.

As far as your boss is concerned you might want to have a discussion about how he/she can make your job just a little less demanding. If this is not workable, then I would suggest a job change. Your health is that important!
