Stress and pressure points / racing heart

Postby BabyBBlair on Wed Jun 01, 2005 8:32 pm

I just joined this site. Not sure how to post a question, but I'm going to try...

For the first time in my life I feel like I'm experiencing severe anxiety/stress (what's the difference?). I am a happy person, never had a problem with depression, so that's not the issue. I recently moved across the country and started my own business. The pressure of the responsibility is taking it's toll (or at least that's what I think is causing the way I'm feeling).

Here are my symptoms, I'd love some feedback:
- I feel like I'm having constant adreneline surges. This is really scarey since it feels like my heart is surging.
- I'm having pain in pressure points like my hands, wrists, near my collar bone, chest, back (and more). But the pain in these areas is not constant - it surges as well, like pulses. Sometimes all day long and it never lets go. This is also scarey.
- Only on two occasions I have had a bizarre pain in the back of my head. Like someone thumped me hard on the back of the skull. Makes me feel like I'm having a stroke - not that I know what that feels like.
- I've also had trouble concentrating and have a feeling of being overwhelmed.

Could these be symptoms of stress? How do I deal with them. I am opposed to being on perscription medication and would love to deal with this naturally. Please help. Thanks.

I should probably also add that I am a 31 year old female. I'm in relatively good health. could be better, but I don't smoke, I walk twice a day. I eat alright but probably drink too much wine (I'm trying to relax!).

Please let me know if you have any advice. Thanks. I feel like I'm going crazy or getting ready to have a heart attack.

Hi

I would first suggest that you go to yoru healthcare provider and geta complete check-up including bloodwork. Be sure to state all your symptoms. This would be to rule out anything serious.

Certainly the symptoms you describe could be stress but they could also be something along the lines of fibromyalgia.

I would suggest that you consider the following for stress: meditation, Yoga, Pilate's, relaxation cd, walking, talking to a trusted friend.

Natural Methods for Stress Include: SamE, Lithium Orotate, B-Complex, healthy diet (not a fad diet), drinking half your body weight in ounces of filtered water every day, learning to say no, organic multi-vitamin/mineral complex.

I would also look into hormone balancing. Many women are on estrogen overload and should you be on synthetic HRT then I would defintely suggest that you consider getting off of this and on to natural progesterone.

I would also suggest that you consume only 1 glass of wine/day.

Again, get checked-out by your healthcare professional.
